The foundational principles driving the Asociación Ñeta
Back
Our Vision
We envision a world where our communities are self-sufficient, dignified, and free from institutional oppression. We strive for a society where government serves the people—not the other way around—where accountability is non-negotiable, and where justice is truly for all. We see a future built on cooperation, mutual aid, and collective power, rooted in the strength of our families, our youth, and those too long discarded by the system.
Our Mission
The Asociación Ñeta exists to unify, organize, and empower our communities. We build bridges between families of incarcerated individuals, organize youth and the street population, and develop political power from the ground up. Through advocacy, mutual aid, and direct action, we demand that institutions serve the people and that our communities gain the resources and autonomy to thrive without dependency on politicians or bureaucrats. We are a grassroots force inspired by the legacy of the Young Lords and the Black Panthers, committed to defending our people and reclaiming our sovereignty.
Our Purpose

The Asociación Ñeta serves as a community-based political advocacy organization with a clear and urgent purpose:

1

Unify from the Families Inward

We organize families of incarcerated individuals to break the isolation imposed by the prison system. Through these families, we build networks of support that connect the inside with the outside, ensuring that no one is forgotten or abandoned.

2

Organize Youth and the Streets

We unify the lumpen proletariat—those criminalized and discarded by society—into a collective force for change. Gang members, drug dealers, sex workers, and users are not our enemies; they are our people. We organize them under the principle of community defense and mutual liberation.

3

Build Self-Sufficient Communities

We develop cooperatives, mutual aid networks, and solidarity economies that allow our communities to meet their own needs without relying on government handouts or corporate exploitation. We believe in collective ownership and community-controlled resources.

4

Hold Politicians and Agencies Accountable

We demand that public officials and government agencies understand their role as servants of the people. No policy that affects our communities will go unchallenged. We require consultation, transparency, and accountability from every level of government.

5

Establish Civilian Control Over Law Enforcement

We remind law enforcement that they are employed to serve and protect the people, not to harass, violate, or terrorize us. We implement civilian oversight, document abuses, and demand criminal prosecution for every violation of our rights.

6

Defend Workers and Unions

We stand with unions and labor movements to protect the right to organize. Any employer or corporation that attempts to suppress unionization will face our collective resistance. We demand that the government protect workers, not corporations.

7

Demand Government Transparency and Justice

We expose government misconduct and demand that all public officials be held accountable under the law. No one is above the law—no politician, no police officer, no bureaucrat. Justice must be applied equally, without exception or immunity.

8

Establish a Disciplinary Process

We maintain the integrity of our association through a transparent disciplinary process. Members who violate our principles—by sowing discord, spreading gossip, or creating conflict—are held accountable through written complaints (minutas), rapid disciplinary committees, and, if necessary, public designation as No-Gratos (Non-Grata). These decisions are shared across our network to ensure that those who betray our values find no refuge within our ranks.

Our Principles
Unity

We organize across generations, geographies, and circumstances. We are stronger together.

Mutual Aid

We take care of our own. We do not wait for the government to act.

Accountability

No one is above the law, and no one is beneath dignity.

Self-Determination

Our communities have the right to govern themselves and control their own resources.

Justice

We seek justice not as a privilege, but as a right for all people.

Our Call

The Asociación Ñeta is not an organization that asks for permission. We are a movement built from the ground up—by families, by the incarcerated, by the streets, by those who have been told they do not matter.

If you believe in self-sufficient communities, in a government that answers to the people, in real justice, and in the power of unity, then you belong here.
